Samsung Galaxy Watch Active -3First Impressions: Sleek, sporty and trendy

The new Galaxy S10 smartphones are officially in use, and the company has also released its first foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Fold. In addition to smartphones, Samsung has also released Galaxy Buds with wireless headphones, Galaxy Fit Fitness, Activity Tracker and Galaxy Watch Active-3 Smartwatch. I had some time to play with the Galaxy Watch activist at the launch event and here are my first impressions.

New design, minus the rotating bezels.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch Active-3 has seen a multitude of design changes compared to Samsung's earlier smartwatches. The company has left the rotating bezel that was once the feature of smartwatches. Instead, the new clock comes with a touch-based gesture navigation interface.

The frame is made of stainless steel, and there are two buttons on the right - the top back button, the bottom menu button. Unlike the Gear Sport and the Galaxy Watch, the watch has rounded buttons. It has a diameter of 40 mm and can be replaced with straps (20 mm).

Display and specifications:

The Galaxy Watch Active-3, AMOLED panel, features a 1.1-inch circular display. It has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection with 360 × 360 pixel resolution. However, there are thick bezels around the display that make the show look smaller. As Apple did with Watch Series 4, Samsung could reduce the bezels by offering a larger display in a smaller form.

Activity tracking :

Like any other fitness tracker, the Galaxy Watch Active -3 can track 39 exercises. So whether you’re squats, plank, crunches, walking, running or jogging, it keeps track of those activities. The map has a built-in GPS and gyroscope, which allows you to track and log your workout.

There is a heart rate monitor that continuously monitors your heart rate. You can also deactivate real-time monitoring if you want to save battery. Finally, it can track your sleep patterns with other patterns such as watch frequency, sleep time, deep sleep and light sleep.

Initial impressions:

The Galaxy Watch Active-3 costs $ 199 in the US, which is around $ 14,200. In fact, after taxes, the price is slightly higher in India and it remains to be seen how aggressive the new Activity Tracker for Samsung will be. It is thin, thin, and shaped. As with previous smartwatches, this is an affordable option for those looking for style and fitness tracking in one package.
